The Clay & The Calm: Why I Make and Why I Teach
My art practice is built on a simple, powerful idea: that creating with our hands is a direct path to calm and connection. This belief is supported by a deep educational foundation and a commitment to making art accessible to all.

I am a dedicated educator specializing in Inclusive Education and have a background in Psychology and Visual Arts. This expertise allows me to structure every workshop not just as an art class, but as a carefully designed, supportive, and engaging learning experience. I am further enhancing this approach by currently working toward my Therapeutic Arts Practitioner certification.

As an artist, my work flows primarily through the ancient and rewarding medium of ceramics. I love the connection to earth and fire, the discipline it requires, and the endless possibility for functional and sculptural forms. Complementing this, I dive into the whimsical and textural world of needle felting, finding a satisfying contrast in its soft, three-dimensional sketching. My deepest pleasure, however, is simply in the act of making—seeing an idea materialize out of the raw material.

But the joy doesn't stop with the finished piece. As a teacher, I open my studio and my knowledge to others, driven by the desire to share the profound, positive benefits of art.

In a fast-paced world, the simple, focused activity of wedging clay or the repetitive act of felting wool becomes a form of meditation. This is what I seek to provide in my classes: a supportive environment where students can not only master a skill but can also tap into the peace and sense of presence that these beautiful, tactile art forms inherently offer.

I invite you to explore my pieces and, even better, join me for a class to experience the gentle magic of the creative process for yourself.
